The starting point |

Due to the interest of other parents in "my"
approach I decided to start the "kids2sit" project.

The origin
Necessity is the mother of invention!
The practicability of an invention can often only
be tested by the relevant persons in their daily
routine. And if there is not suitable invention you
have to come up with your own good ideas.
My concern was the comfortable and of course safe transportation of my two children, an infant and
a lively toddler.
An example scenario on a street with heavy traffic:
You push the pram with the infant in it with one hand
and hold the toddler with the other hand. A car
approaches and in the same instant your child breaks
loose and runs towards the roadway …
In order to face both children, I started to set my
older son on the end of the pram’s carrycot.
At first that did not pose a problem as my younger son
was so little that he still had enough legroom in the
carrycot. By the time he needed "his" entire footsack
I had the idea of building a wooden "tunnel" to leave
enough leg room for the younger one and to provide a comfortable and safe seat for the older one.
This "prototype" disappeared such as the current "kids2sit" completely in the carrycot. |
